iPhone 15 Pro Max will have a small battery
Next week, in addition to the iPhone 15, Apple will also introduce the new top model: the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Unfortunately, according to the latest rumors, this top model will not have a top battery.
On X (formerly Twitter) user specifies Majin Bu indicates that the iPhone 15 Pro Max “will have a 4422 mAh battery”. That is hardly more powerful than the battery of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which has a capacity of 4323 mAh. Previous rumors spoke of a 4852 mAh battery, which is a lot higher.
Battery life isn’t necessarily disappointing
However, the capacity of a battery does not say everything. Even if Majin Bu is right, it’s still possible that the battery life of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is quite a bit better than that of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
For example, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a battery with a smaller capacity than the 13 Pro Max, which has a 4352 mAh battery. And the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a smaller battery than the 11 Pro Max (3687 mAh compared to 3969 mAh). Still, the battery life of each new Pro Max model is longer than that of its predecessor.
iOS 17 and the A17 Bionic Chip lend a helping hand
It is likely that Apple will still manage to achieve a longer battery life on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, despite a slightly more powerful battery. This is due to the A17 Bionic chip and iOS 17. That chip will be a lot more economical and the new iOS version will be further optimized.
