Apple often releases a new color for the iPhone six months after release. But when does the iPhone get 16 new colors?
Will there be new colors for the iPhone 16?
Apple has released an extra new color of an iPhone six times before. That always happened about six months after the release of a new iPhone. Usually it was around March or April.
The iPhones that have been given an extra color in between:
- iPhone 7 and 7 Plus: (Product) Red (March 21, 2017)
- iPhone 8 and 8 Plus: (Product) Red (April 9, 2018)
- iPhone 12 and 12 Mini: Purple (April 20, 2021)
- iPhone 13 and 13 Mini: Green (8 March, 2022)
- iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max: Alpine Green (March 8, 2022)
- iPhone 14 and 14 Plus: Yellow (March 7, 2023)
There are no rumors about new colors for the iPhone 16 at the moment. So it is quite possible that Apple will skip again this year. That also happened with the iPhone XR, iPhone 11 and iPhone 15.
However, Apple has more often released a new color than not. So there is a chance that a new version will come this year. But it remains to be seen.
Apple has only provided a pro-model with a new color once before and that was in 2022. That means that the chance is quite small that a new color will come from the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The iPhone 16 is available in the colors black, white, pink, blue -green and ultramarine. One of the possible new colors could then become red, yellow, purple or gray. These are all colors that were available with previous versions of the iPhone.
So it remains to be seen. But the rumors say that the iPhone 16th will appear soon. So it is also possible that a new color will come.
