
With the April 2018 Update, Microsoft is giving the user control over the diagnostic data they collect. Here’s how to take advantage of it.
Windows 10 collects a lot of diagnostic data and sends it to Microsoft. According to the publisher this data is anonymous, but you may want to know what is collected and especially how to delete this information. This is now possible with the April 2018 Update:
- Click the Start button, then click the small gear-shaped settings icon. Then click on Confidentiality, then on Diagnosis and comments in the left column.

- You can first check the diagnostics option Basic to limit the information sent. Then scroll down and click on the button. To delete to clear diagnostic data. If you want to see them before deleting them, activate the switch in the section Diagnostic Data Viewer and click on the button placed just below.

- The Microsoft Store opens and offers you to get the application for free. Diagnostic Data Viewer. Click on the button Get.

- Then click on the button To throw in the notification displayed at the bottom right of the screen. The viewer displays the details of the diagnostic data collected by Windows 10.

- It allows you to browse among the different categories and to choose only the basic diagnostics by activating the switch for this purpose.
