With these 6 delivery apps you have a meal at home quickly

In times of corona we all have to stay at home as much as possible. The catering industry is closed and it is better not to visit the supermarket too often. Having food delivered to your home is the perfect way to stay indoors. These are the best home delivery apps.

The 6 Best Home Delivery Apps

If you don’t want to, you no longer have to go to the supermarket: you can just have your groceries delivered at home. But don’t have time to cook or just want something tasty? Then it is also possible to have complete hot dishes delivered to your door.

Currently, there are also many restaurants that have started a takeout service, so that you do not have to miss that one delicious dish. But if you can’t or don’t want to leave your house, fortunately there are still many options for having a meal come to you. These are the best delivery apps in our opinion, in no particular order.

With these 6 delivery apps you have a meal at home quickly

1. Home delivery

Home delivery apps owe their name to the most popular food delivery app: Home Delivery. This one is also the most complete. Since many people use the app, most cafeterias and restaurants near you have joined this app. Ordering food is therefore very easy.

After entering your zip code, you will immediately see which restaurants deliver within a radius of a few kilometers around your home. At the top you see the different kitchens from which you can choose. Click on the dishes that you want to have delivered at home and pay in the app. Within 45 minutes to an hour you have a delicious hot meal on your plate. By the way, take away food is also possible.

2. Deliveroo

In the land of home-delivery apps, Deliveroo also claims a large part of the pie. Most eateries are therefore affiliated with Thuisbezorgd or Deliveroo, or both. Whether you want a quick pizza or a culinary dish: you can have it all delivered to your home. Unlike Thuisbezorgd, Deliveroo is also active internationally.

You can visit the service for both lunch and dinner. If you have location services turned on, you can immediately see which restaurants are currently delivering food to you. You can decide for yourself whether you want to choose based on dish – such as a pizza, burger or, for example, chicken – or based on restaurant. You can usually be seated at the table within an hour.

3. Delivery country

Several small restaurants are also affiliated with Bezorgland. This is one of the newer home delivery apps, so the service is not yet available in every city or town. However, you can already have delicious food delivered to many places.

The offer consists of pizzas and burgers, but other types of dishes can also be ordered here. You can also order fish, sushi, pasta and even beer. Here you can see in which cities the app can currently be used.

4. Domino’s and New York Pizza

If you are mainly looking for pizza, you can of course knock on the door of Domino’s or New York Pizza. Both pizzerias are only focused on delivery and takeout: you can’t eat on location. Both Domino’s and New York Pizza have their own home delivery apps where you can easily compose your own pizza. If you are a student you also have a significant discount.

When you create an account, your address and order history will be saved. This way you don’t have to fill in your address again with your next order, and you can order that one tasty pizza again. Can’t choose? Then you also have the option of choosing two different halves, or even four different quarters.

5. Sushi point

Not in the mood for a greasy bite, but want something easy? Then you can also go for sushi. Sushipoint is also purely focused on delivery and collection. The delivery service can be found in most cities.

Here you can choose from different menus with all kinds of sushi, or put together your own menu with different sushi rolls. Fancy something warm too? Sushipoint offers various warm side dishes.

6. Pick up at home

The Thuisafhaal app is a great initiative by the Home Cooked Foundation to bring people into contact with each other who can offer help. In principle, the service does not deliver, but consists of several home cooks, who have signed up to cook for other people in the area. So it is not one of the traditional home delivery apps.

Especially in these times it is very handy to be able to get a meal somewhere nearby. On a map you can see where the home cooks are located in your area. Do you want to contribute yourself? Then you can sign up in the app to cook something for a small amount. Are you or do you know someone who cannot leave their home because you are in a vulnerable position? Then you can use the app to find a neighbor who can help you.
