With this Mazda 323C you can drive fun for next to nothing – Enthusiast Wanted

We don’t say it quickly, but this Mazda 323C really seems like a godsend. You can get it for a very reasonable price and it seems like a nice copy too!

It was not as flashy as the Mazda 323F, but the Mazda 323C (or 323 CoupĂ©) was also a nice striking thing. Actually, it was a hatchback with a sloping roofline and a spoiler halfway down the tailgate, but nowadays the term ‘coupĂ©’ is used much more often than ever. Whatever it is, the 323C was certainly more extravagant than the regular 323 hatchback. Underneath it was just the same story and that was technically completely fine in any case.

Rust prevention was a somewhat weaker point and that is partly why the 323 and also the 323C are no longer very widely represented these days. It is therefore extra striking that an apparently quite fresh copy does not cost the top price. On the contrary, at €995 the asking price for this red one from 1997 is simply low. Especially when you consider that it only has 126,000 km on the odometer. Yes, the red paint may be a bit more pink here and there than it once was, but otherwise we don’t really see any significant signs of wear. In any case, rust is not noticeably present on the outside.

It is still exciting to see how things work underneath, but the 323C passed the MOT the last two times without any concerns. For just under a grand you can also get a car that belonged to its first owner until 2021 and then stayed with the previous owner for another three years. That doesn’t sound crazy either. All in all, a very nice opportunity to drive something striking for next to nothing. Maybe a polish can do something with the paint and you can pick up a nice set of wheels somewhere to complete the picture!
