ChatGPT can be useful for many purposes, such as writing an application, report or email. But it is also a good way to remove spelling errors, grammar errors and other language errors from your text. The chatbot writes Dutch (almost) flawlessly: it is rarely caught making language errors. Moreover, the texts are easy to read. Improving your texts with ChatGPT is easy.
Tell ChatGPT to only correct the errors and not change anything else |
Assignment
First, go to chat.openai.com and create an account if you haven’t already. Copy the command below:
I want you to serve as a spelling corrector and corrector. I will talk to you in the Dutch language and you will answer in the corrected and improved version of my text, in Dutch. Keep the meaning the same. I want you to respond only with the correction and the improvements, and nothing else, don’t write an explanation and keep it in the you form. Understood?
Paste it into the chat and press the sendknob. This prompt prevents ChatGPT from tinkering with your text too much, but instead having to concentrate mainly on errors. The chatbot looks for spelling and grammar errors, but also corrects punctuation and capitalization errors.
Enter text
You enter a new assignment (within the same chat) via the input field at the bottom. Paste the text you want to check there and press the sendbutton, no further instructions are required. ChatGPT then converts it into a text without language errors. Check carefully whether the text generator has not adjusted more than necessary, because the AI sometimes has a hand in that.
It might be good to know: you only have to enter the command in italics once. In the chat in question, ChatGPT then only serves as a word corrector. Would you like to ask ChatGPT something else? Start a new chat via the button at the top left. Chats are saved automatically.
Refine assignment
Don’t underestimate ChatGPT, it can do a lot. Could the text be a bit more businesslike? Paste the generated text into a new chat, enclose it in quotes and write a command like: turn this into a formal text.
Do you want children to understand it? Then tell ChatGPT: write this text in the style of a twelve year old.
The text full of errors is then returned neatly corrected |
