Worldwide sales end July with a slight decline

Although many countries already shared their sales figures for the month of July, global analyzes were still lacking. Until now, because LMC Automotive has calculated how many cars have been sold worldwide in the past month.

The fact that the corona crisis is dealt a blow to the car sector can no longer be a big secret. New car sales slumped around the world. Now, however, some light seems to be shining at the end of the tunnel, as car sales are showing a cautious recovery. This could already be seen in various countries in Europe, but new worldwide sales figures confirm this suspicion. According to Automotive News Europe, LMC Automotive says that July ‘only’ saw a sales decline of 6.8 percent.

This means that a slow rise continues, which started in mid-April. At the end of June, LMC still expected a sharp decline in July, but the figures are better than expected. The analyzes for the entire year still look rather bleak: so far, sales worldwide fell by 25 percent. Ultimately, LMC Automotive expects sales to have lost 20 percent by the end of this year compared to a year earlier. According to the office, it is expected that there will be about 70 million cars.
