Yale’s Linus smart door lock now also works with the Home Connect Plus app. This way you not only have extra home security, but the Yale Linus is also compatible with other smart home devices or systems.

Yale is an authority on door locks, among other things. In 2021 we tested their smart door lock Linus, of which you can read the review of the Yale Linus here.
A smart door lock is handy and Yale wants to make it easier to use the Linus by making it work together with the Home Connect Plus app.

Yale Linus and Home Connect Plus
It is possible to view remotely whether the door is locked or not via the Home Connect Plus app; you can also unlock the door yourself via the app. To do this, you must first connect the Yale Linus to the Yale Access app. Then you connect the Linus setup with the Home Connect Plus app and the smart door lock Linus is ready for use and compatible with your other smart home devices. You can now also see when someone enters or leaves.
If desired, you can set the Linus to automatically lock the door when you close it and open it again automatically when you get home via geo-fencing, the GPS location of your smartphone.
In addition, it is possible to provide virtual guest keys remotely. You can set yourself for how long this guest key is valid. This can be a few weeks, but also a few hours or even a few minutes. Access to apps cannot be copied, so you can be sure that only you have access and can provide it.

Home Connect Plus app
Many of the daily tasks are handled automatically by the Home Connect Plus app. If you lock the Linus smart door lock in the morning, Home Connect Plus can start your ‘Away’ automation, lower the heating to save energy, start the cleaning robot and switch off all the lights at once when you leave. It is also convenient that you can check the status of your smart devices at any time via the Home Connect Plus app.
Whether smart speakers, lighting systems or automated blinds – smart home devices provide greater comfort, safety, save time and make life easier. With Home Connect Plus, Yale is responding to a great need of smart home users: more compatibility with less complexity. You no longer have to be a techie to connect and operate smart technology in a smart way, there is now an app for that. This can be used for different brands and can be downloaded for free in all app stores in the Netherlands.

Yale Linus Accessories
It is also possible to order a Linus Smart Keypad and a WiFi bridge with the smart Linus door lock. The Smart Keypad is an extra accessory to give people access to your home with a unique code. The WiFi bridge enables integrations with voice assistants and offers additional remote functionalities such as unlocking and locking the door and receiving smart notifications on your smartphone.

Battery Life
When the battery is almost empty, you will receive a notification to replace it. The average batteries last between 6 and 9 months with ‘normal’ use. However, the battery life does depend on the number of revolutions per day, the smoothness of the door opening and how often the door is opened in a day.

Yale Linus on your front door?
The smart Linus fits on almost all front doors. To find out if it will fit your lock, you can do the Yale Linus check.
