It hardly gets more exclusive than this. Yamaha Motor Europe (YME) and the Yamaha Austria Racing Team (YART) GYTR Pro Shop have unveiled three stunning limited edition replicas of the Yamalube YART Yamaha EWC Official Team R1, marking the team’s first podium in this year’s Suzuka 8 Hours claimed.
The YART team took second place in the final standings of the FIM Endurance World Championship this year after a sensational season in which they finished third at the 24 Heures Motos in Le Mans, won the 8 Hours of Spa Motos and finished a further third at the Bol d’Or.
But the highlight of the year was undoubtedly an incredible second place at the Suzuka 8 Hours, fulfilling a lifelong ambition of the team and manager Mandy Kainz to score a podium at the legendary endurance race in Japan.
This result inspired the decision to create three new Suzuka 8 Hours R1 replicas with the special livery of the YART team in Japan. Each model offers a clear step up in performance, with each upgrade bringing the engines closer and closer to the YART R1’s EWC specification.
Commissioned by YART and supported by YME, the new special edition replicas come with a range of powerful upgrades and unique features, depending on the package you choose: the base model, the Evo version or the Factory Edition.
The base model produces 200 hp and comes with high-performance Öhlins racing suspension, including FGK 219 front forks, a TTX YA468 rear shock absorber and a racing-spec steering damper. It also has an Akrapovič factory exhaust kit and lightweight Marchesini forged aluminum wheels with Bridgestone V02 racing slicks front and rear.
Brembo manufactured the brakes, including the high-quality GP4-RX brake calipers, Z04 brake pads and T-Drive discs. The Italian company also supplied the brake adjuster mounted on the machine.
All motorcycles feature numerous Genuine Yamaha Technology for Racing (GYTR) parts, including the latest rear quick-change system for quicker rear wheel replacement during a tire change, as well as racing footpegs, ECU and quick action throttle, all essential components on Yamaha’s racing machines .
The Evo model goes one step further with an even more track-oriented suspension, including Öhlins FGR252 front fork. The Brembo brakes have been updated with GP4-MS calipers, plus a nickel-plated rear brake caliper and CNC PR18x19 brake pump to further improve braking performance. Moreover, it comes with a BMC air filter.
Finally, the Factory Edition has all the upgrades from the Evo, as well as the full GYTR engine kit with upgraded GYTR internals including camshafts, pistons, connecting rods, valve springs and more, increasing the bike’s power to no less than 220 hp, bringing it even closer to the full EWC racing specification YART R1.
All engines are available with free delivery throughout Europe. To find out more, view the full specifications of each model or place your order for one of the limited edition Yamalube YART Yamaha EWC Official Team Suzuka 8 Hours R1 replicas, visit the YART GYTR Pro Shop website here.
“We are excited to introduce these exclusive Yamalube YART Yamaha EWC Official Team Suzuka 8 Hours R1 replicas. The three different versions give customers a choice of how close they want to get to the full EWC-spec R1 and the color scheme is simply beautiful. It was a dream of mine and everyone working in the team to get our first podium finish at Suzuka; these bikes are a fantastic way to celebrate this achievement. I would like to thank everyone at YART, YME and all our partners who worked incredibly hard to bring this project to fruition and produce three different, but equally beautiful track bikes.”
