You’ve probably never seen these seven station wagons

It is not the first time that we have reflected on station wagons that never entered series production, as this list already showed. Once again we present you with seven station wagons that you have never seen in real life.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta Folk (1978)

The Italian coachbuilder Moretti built two almost identical SW versions of the Giulietta: the Giardinetta and the Folk. Not bad, just like the extra spacious versions of the Alfetta and 164 were not. They just never went into production.

Renault Safrane Long Cours (1994)

Based on a scale model from Heuliez, Renault designer Patrick Le Quément had a 1:1 model made of the Safrane Long Cours, with a striking round rear and a large glass roof. Despite positive reactions, it remained with one copy.

Porsche 928 H50 (1987)

Porsche not only built an extended 928 for Ferry Porsche’s 75th birthday, but three years later also this H50, including suicide doors for better rear entry.

Skoda 1000 MB Hajaja (1963)

Hajaja was a popular radio program in Czechoslovakia at the time, broadcast just before bedtime. It became the nickname of this Skoda, where the engine had to be laid flat (as if it were going to sleep) under the loading floor, with the cylinder head to the left.

Audi Avantissimo (2001)

An A8 station wagon, it could have been a reality if Audi had gone ahead with this concept car. Unfortunately, it remained only a sedan, just as BMW and Mercedes never dared to build a SW version of the 7-series or S-class.

BMW 5 Series (1987)

The 5 Series has only been available as a station wagon since the E34 generation. Before that, it remained with one-offs and small series from body builders. Like this one from Schulz, which you could get in a passenger or commercial vehicle version for over 20,000 marks.

Ferrari 456 GT Venice Estate (1996)

As the Sultan of Brunei you have something to spend and wish for, so ask Pininfarina to design and build a Ferrari 456 sedan, convertible and station wagon especially for you and your family. And then that happens, for a generous fee.
