Gordon Murray unveils mischievous Motiv

Gordon Murray’s own company GMA (Gordon Murray Automotive) is taking a new path with the extremely compact Motiv. The 2.5 meter long creation has been developed as a new autonomous city facility.

Gordon Murray; the man of the extremes. Where he used to be the big brain behind, among other things, the McLaren F1, now he is at the head of a new autonomous project. This mischievous Motiv plays the leading role. The autonomous Motiv was developed together with his own team and in collaboration with Delta Motorsport and itMoves. It is a project that focuses on city mobility.

The Motiv must be seen as a “pod” in which one person can take a seat. With the help of Gordon Murray’s iStream Superlight technology, the car can take passengers in busy cities autonomously from A to B. The Motiv only weighs 450 kg, is 2,537 mm long and has a width of 1,310 mm. Given the weight, the compact car is qualified as a quadricycle: a four-wheel motorcycle. The electric motor in the Motiv has a capacity of 27 hp, a battery of 17.3 kWh supplies the motor with its energy. According to WLTP measurements, the Motiv comes 100 km far where a top speed of 65 km / h is achievable.

Given the size, safety at first sight might be a thing, but according to Murray, the Motiv meets all safety requirements. Whether there are production plans is as yet unknown.
