Still a price packer?
The Chinese Hongqi comes to the Netherlands via Stern. In our country, the E-HS9 allows consumers to taste the goods of the brand, which is highly positioned in the market in China, for the first time. The E-HS9 is an electric SUV, whose starting price is now known.
The Hongqi E-HS9 proves that cars from Chinese manufacturers do not necessarily have to be bargains. The E-HS9 is in fact a lil of an electric SUV, which in the Netherlands has a starting price of €83,590. For comparison: the BMW iX costs at least €85,095 in the Netherlands. The E-HS9 is basically a seven-seater. Importer Stern intends to bring two new models from Hongqi to the Netherlands at the end of 2023 or early 2024.
Can the BMW iX and Hongqi E-HS9 be compared one on one? Well no. With its length of 5.21 meters, the Hongqi E-HS9 is quite a bit bigger than the 4.95 meter long BMW. In addition, the iX of 85 grand as xDrive40 has a 71 kWh (net) battery pack and two 326 hp electric motors together. In any case, the Hongqi is more generously endowed on paper. Basically, it has an 84 kWh battery and two 436 hp electric motors together. The Hongqi E-HS9 has a range of 396 kilometers in that configuration. In terms of range, the entry-level Hongqi loses out to the iX. The latter notes a WLTP range of 425 kilometers behind its name.
The Hongqi E-HS9 is also available with a stronger drivetrain and a larger battery. The electric SUV is also available with two 551 hp electric motors and a 99 kWh battery. That variant beats in 4.9 seconds to a speed of 100 km/h and with 465 kilometers it comes a lot further on a full battery. The Hongqi E-HS9 with this powertrain is available from €94,590. For that money you get the Executive version. He is also available as an extra richly equipped President and then changes hands from €103,590. By the way, you have to like grey, white and black if you go for the E-HS9. The SUV is only available in colors such as Glacier White, Arctic Black, Mountain Gray and two-tone combinations thereof.

Equipment
The standard equipment of the Hongqi E-HS9 includes electrically adjustable and leather or a combination of leather and Alcantara seats, which have adjustable head cushions. A panoramic glass roof is standard, as is mood lighting. Three digital displays, optically fused together and spanning almost the entire width of the dashboard, are standard on the President. Incidentally, the President version is not a seven-seater, but a six-seater. In the back you will also find more spacious seating.
