The weather app is arguably one of the most used apps on your iPhone. In iOS 16, Apple gave the weather app a few new, cool features. iPhoned tells what functions those are and how to find them!
New features for the Weather app in iOS 16
In iOS 15, the Weather app had already been overhauled once. Apple apparently thought that was not enough and has rolled up its sleeves again in iOS 16.
At first glance, there isn’t a whole lot different in the app on your iPhone. But looks can be deceiving, because tapping one of the boxes now opens a new section in the app.

For example, if you tap the top frame with the temperature forecast, you will see a new overview. Here you see the temperature as a line graph and you can even look a week ahead. In iOS 16’s revamped Weather app, you can now even tap any of the frames. And each time you will be presented with a different window with more data.
iPad is also getting its own Weather app (finally!)
There’s more good news, because in iPadOS 16, the iPad finally gets its own Weather app. In iPadOS 15 (or earlier), tapping the Weather widget opens a website showing you the displayed . That has ended in iPadOS 16, because from now on the same app will be opened that you also have on the iPhone.

The Weather app on the iPad will also receive the above functions. So you can now also tap the frames on the iPad to view more information.
