With help from Giugiaro
Lafitte Automobili is a new player in the car world. It introduces itself to the world by presenting not one, not two, but three hypercars. They are all drawn by GFG Style, the design house of none other than top designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and his son Fabrizzio Giugiaro.
Automobili Lafitte was co-founded this year by Bruno Lafitte, family of none other than F1 driver Jacques Lafitte. In 2020, the company – then called Lafitte Supercars – already looked ahead to a fierce first model with this X-Road, but now Automobili Lafitte has globally highlighted its first definitive models: the LM1, the Atrax and the Barchetta. The lines of the trio were put on paper by GFG Style, the Giugiaro’s design agency.
What else do the three cars have in common? They are completely electric and very strong. We will start with the Atrax, which is currently the most information known. The Atrax is a high-legged coupe in the style of cars like the Mega Track from days gone by. The 5-meter-long creation has two electric motors with a total of 1,167 hp, pounds 2,500 Nm to the wheels and, despite its 2,200 kilograms, is able to accelerate to a speed of 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds. Its top speed: 240 km/h. On a full battery, the colossus should be able to travel up to 440 kilometers. The Atrax – Lafitte calls it a HyperSUV – is built around a carbon fiber monococque, has butterfly doors and comes in a fierce off-road flavor and in a more street-oriented form. Lafitte Automobili will build 26 copies, the first of which will appear in March 2024. Its starting price: €1.53 million…
Then there is the Barchetta, a strikingly designed flat and stretched roadster that produces 585 hp and reaches 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds. Its range: 390 kilometers. The LM-1 can best be described as a LeMans racer for the public road. Like the Atrax, it is 1,167 horsepower. According to its creators, the colossus reaches 100 km / h in 1.98 seconds and the LM-1 reaches a speed of 350 km / h. Its range: 410 kilometers.
