BMW will probably be pulling the curtain on the completely new 7-series this year. It is that top sedan that can be seen in action on a set of fresh spy photos at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife.
BMW is walking a fairly pronounced design path with cars like the Z4 and 4-series. The new 7-series will also be a model that breaks with its predecessors in particular with its front view. BMW’s competitor to cars such as the Mercedes-Benz S-class, Lexus LS and Audi A8 gets a stubborn front with strikingly low-placed lighting. With a little imagination, the whole is somewhat reminiscent of the way in which the first generation 8-series was designed. On this series spyshots, shot at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, the remarkable 7-series front can already be seen quite well.

Sensors are visible in the front bumper of this packed new BMW 7-series, something that of course indicates that the new 7-series is also being filled with hardware and software that should make semi-autonomous driving possible. It is unlikely that the new 7 series will be available again with a mighty V12 and the future of the V8 also depends on the Siebener by a thread. In any case, the new top sedan will be available with blown six-cylinders and for the first time in the history of the model there will be a fully electric version. That electric 7 series is called i7. The i7 simply shares most of its platform and carriage with the conventionally powered versions of the 7 Series. Here, BMW therefore opts for a different path than competitor Mercedes-Benz, which in the form of the EQS has a completely independent electric alternative to the S-class in the form of the EQS.
