- Write down the model number: it starts with the letter A.
Apple uses many different model numbers, so it is helpful to write this number down. Is the battery of your iPad empty? Then you can also check the model number outside the settings. This is because it is on the back. Turn the iPad over and look under the Apple logo again for the model number, which can be recognized by the letter A.
