Apple Music sing-a-long

Apple Music has via a press release announced that it is adding a karaoke feature to its Apple Music streaming service. With this ‘Apple Music Sing’ you sing along to your favorite songs with adjustable volume of the vocals and lyrics that scroll automatically. You don’t even need to specially download this karaoke feature in Apple Music; it is automatically in your app.

Apple Music Sing: for the amateur and the professional

With the new scrolling beat by beatlyrics make it even easier to follow the music. These words are also nicely animated. With the adjustable vocals you can, for example, enter into a duet with your favorite artist. Or you filter out the vocals completely to just sing along with the music.

In short: these adjustable vocals allow you to adjust the vocal level of a song. With the ‘backing vocals’ function you can also reproduce vocal lines that are sung at the same time independently of the main vocals. Suppose you feel like blaring along to the songs of High School Musical. This is also possible with the ‘duet view’ in Apple Music’s karaoke function. Apple also added 50 playlists that bundle the best sing-alongs in a variety of ways.

What songs get the karaoke feature?

Unfortunately, we don’t know which songs will support Apple Music’s karaoke feature, but we can make a guess. Apple now also makes the distinction with songs that support Dolby Atmos. Apple has the stems (all instruments on separate tracks) of these songs. This also allows you to easily turn down the vocals. In the press release, Apple talks about millions of songs.

Apple Music Sing is still available this year on your iPhone, iPad and the Apple TV 4K. You must of course be an Apple Music subscriber. That is hardly surprising. We have been waiting for a long time for another major new feature of Apple Music: a special version for classical music. Fortunately, we were able to enjoy our Apple Music Replay last week.
