Volkswagen is expanding the range of the Golf. The mild hybrid ‘eTSI’ variant is now also available with a single liter engine, coupled as standard with a DSG automatic transmission.

The new generation of Volkswagen Golf is available in more and more variants. From now on you can order the 1.0 eTSI, the entry-level version of the mild petrol hybrid. It has the 1.0 liter engine with 110 hp power (200 Nm torque) under the hood, which is supported by a 48V system with lithium-ion battery.

The mild hybrid system makes it possible to ‘sail’: drive the Golf without using fuel, by using (previously recovered) energy from the battery as soon as the rider releases the accelerator. The electrical assistance also takes some of the fuel consumption off. Average fuel consumption is 5.2 l / 100 km (1 in 19.2). The air from the exhaust is cleaner thanks to a catalytic converter and particle filter.

The Golf 1.0 eTSI comes standard with 7-speed DSG transmission, Volkswagens automatic with double clutch. With these Golf you can tow trailers with a weight of up to 1,300 kg. The starting price is significantly lower than that of the 1.4 liter eTSI Golf. You have the 1.0 eTSI from 31,340 euros, in trim level Life.

The Life comes standard with alloy wheels, Comfort seats, digital cockpit, Climatronic air conditioning, adaptive cruise control, radio / multimedia ‘Composition’, Apple CarPlay smartphone exchange and wireless charging of that phone. Extras of the Life Business equipment level (from 33,690 euros) are, for example, navigation Discover Pro with voice control, DAB + and streaming internet; electrically adjustable ErgoActive driver’s seat with massage function; and the Driver Assistance Package with Park Assist, Side Assist and Traffic Jam Assist.
