1,700 Lada’s Vesta for Police

Lada has won a hefty order. The brand will supply no fewer than 1,700 copies of the Vesta to various Russian police forces. That is a row of 7.5 kilometers long.

The Russian police forces have quite a diverse fleet. BMW’s 5-series, Hyundai’s Sonata, UAZ’s Patriot, Skoda’s Octavia, Ford’s Focus and many old models of Lada are driving around in police costume. In addition to old Ladas, the much more modern Vesta has also been used for several years. Lada will deliver more than 1,700 police versions of the Vesta in the near future.

The Lada’s Vesta for the Russian police teams are relatively simple. They are all based on the Comfort version, although they are equipped with additional 12v and USB connections and a luggage compartment divided into segments. Flashing lights, siren and a loudspeaker cannot be missing, just like a video system. All police Vestas have a manual gearbox and therefore the 106 hp and 148 Nm strong 1.6 under the hood. With this, the Vesta sprints to 100 km/h in 11.2 seconds, with a top speed of 182 km/h. Furthermore, you have to do it with rear drum brakes, steel wheels and without an infotainment system. Air conditioning is present.
