Four benefits of the iPhone 16 Pro
While we expect the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro to share more similarities than ever before, there are of course differences too. Here are the four biggest advantages of the iPhone 16 Pro.
1. A bigger screen
One of the biggest changes coming to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max is their larger screens. The 16 Pro’s display goes from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, while the 16 Pro Max’s screen goes from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus retain their current 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen sizes. ProMotion with a 120Hz refresh rate also remains exclusive to the Pro models.
If you want the largest possible screen, you’ll want to opt for the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This is the first time since the iPhone 13 that the screen sizes of the Pro and non-Pro iPhones differ.
2. Titanium design
The iPhone 15 Pro debuted an all-new design, made of titanium instead of stainless steel. While Apple often rolls the same design across all iPhones in a subsequent generation, this is not the case with the titanium finish. The titanium design remains exclusive to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
3. Improved camera
As usual, the iPhone 16 has dual cameras (main and ultra-wide), while the iPhone 16 Pro has three (main, ultra-wide, and telephoto). This year, things get a little more interesting, as the 5x zoom that first arrived on the iPhone 15 Pro Max makes its way to the iPhone 16 Pro, meaning you no longer have to go for the biggest iPhone to get the best camera system.
The iPhone 16 Pro also gets an improved ultra-wide angle this year, going from 12MP to 48MP. The standard iPhone 16 still has a 12MP ultra-wide angle.
4. Faster performance
Both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro will get the A18 chip. However, the iPhone 16 Pro will get a more powerful version, the A18 Pro. It’s unclear how much of a difference the A18 Pro will make to the A18, but the A18 Pro is expected to have a 6-core GPU and the A18 a 5-core GPU. The A18 Pro is also said to have a more powerful Neural Engine, which could bode well for future Apple Intelligence features.

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro look more alike than ever. This is mainly because the action button is coming to all four models. The same may be true for the capture button, but that is not yet certain. If you choose the iPhone 16 Pro, it will be because of one or more of the advantages we have mentioned here.
