Of course you don’t have to do anything, but if you have installed the new iOS 26, we think it is a good idea to turn on these 5 functions.
5 functions in iOS 26 that you have to turn on
The new iOS 26 brings all kinds of new functions to your iPhone. Some of them are already switched on immediately, but you first have to turn on other functions yourself. We list 5 of those functions for you!
1. Clear view
If you have installed iOS 26, you will immediately see the new Liquid Glass-effect. Apart from this effect, however, your iPhone still looks more or less the same. That does not have to be the case in iOS 26. If you really want to change the appearance, you will switch on the clear view! You do it like this:
- Press an empty piece of your home screen for a long time;
- Tap at the top left for ‘Change’;
- In the menu, tap ‘adjust’;
- Choose ‘clear’ below.

2. Adaptive current
Thanks to this function, your iPhone can extend the battery life when you use more energy than normal. This is possible because in such a case the brightness of the screen is reduced or, for example, the energy -saving mode is automatically switched on at 20 percent. All in all a handy function to switch on in case you ever need it:
- Open the app settings;
- Tap ‘battery’;
- Scroll down and tap ‘Start -up mode’;
- Switch on the ‘adaptive power’ option.

3. Tips for cleaning lenses
In iOS 26 there is a function that gives a notification when it is time to clean the lenses of the cameras. Handy if you didn’t notice that yourself. You just have to turn on the function. You do it like this:
- Open the app settings;
- Tap ‘camera’;
- Scroll all the way down;
- Switch on ‘tips for cleaning lenses’.

4. Filtering call
It is possible in iOS 26 to filter calls. Calls and voicemails of unknown numbers are then kept still and moved to the list of unknown callers. You do this by calling in the ‘unknown callers’ option:
- Open the app settings;
- Tap ‘Apps’ at the bottom;
- Scroll almost all the way down;
- Tap ‘telephone’;
- Scroll all the way down;
- Call in the ‘Unknown Callers’ option.

5. A new ringtone
So there are no less than 7 new ringtones in iOS 26. If you have been using the same ringtone for a long time, then this is the time to try a new one. So: call in a new ringtone! It works like this:
- Open the app settings;
- Tap ‘Hearing and feeling’;
- Tap ‘Beltoon’ downstairs in the picture;
- Make your choice
