Everything comes to an end. Also to the existence of W12 engines at Bentley. In April 2024, Bentley will put an end to the mighty biturbo 6.0 W12, but not before presenting the strongest version of its twelve-cylinder ever.
Bentley hung a W12 in the Continental GT for the first time in 2003 and now, twenty years later, the brand still carries a twelve-cylinder with the same design. But the W12 is not long-lived. In April next year, Bentley will screw together the very last W12. By then, Bentley expects to have produced more than 100,000 W12s. The last eighteen W12s to be built will be the strongest ever.
The last series of W12s is destined for the Bentley Batur, the coupe limited to eighteen units based on the Continental GT, which was already presented in August last year as the strongest street-legal Bentley ever. The W12 would kick it up to 740 hp and 1,000 Nm in that exclusive coupe. Bentley now casually reports that the twelve-cylinder is even stronger. The W12 in the Batur will soon be good for 750 hp and 1,000 Nm.
All eighteen copies of the Batur have already been forgiven. There are still a handful of production spots left for the Bentley Continental GT Speed, Bentayga Speed, Flying Spur Speed ​​and the Continental GT Mulliner and Flying Spur Mulliner. In those models, the 6.0 W12 is good for a certainly not wrong 659 hp. After the disappearance of the W12, Bentley is expanding the production of its V8 and V6 engines.
