That’s how economical the Alfa Romeo Giulietta is in practice

The Alfa Giulietta has been out of production for about two years now. Before that, it was almost unchanged among us for more than ten years and the model, especially for a modern Alfa, recorded excellent sales figures. Of course you don’t buy an Alfa for the pleasantly low consumption, but what can you count on if you are considering a Giulietta as an occasion? The AutoWeek Consumption Monitor provides the answer.

Under the hood of the Giulietta is a 1.4-liter petrol engine with an output of 120 hp. In combination with MultiAir technology, the engine delivers 170 hp, later followed by a version with 150 hp. The top engine is the 1,750 TBi of the Quadrifoglio Verde, which houses 235 horses. Diesel drivers can choose between the 1.6 JTDm with 105 hp and the 2.0 JTDm with 140 or 170 hp.

Consumption Giulietta MultiAir

Starting with the Giulietta MultiAir petrol engines with 150 and 170 hp. With this 1.4 petrol power source, users of the AutoWeek Consumption Monitor achieve an average consumption of 7.9 liters per 100 kilometres, i.e. one liter per 12.9 kilometres. The most economical Giulietta 1.4 MultiAir turns out to be the most powerful 170 hp variant in this case. Over a distance of 24,393 km, the owner drives 1 to 15.8.

On the other side of the Consumption Monitor is a Giulietta MultiAir with a consumption of 1 in 10. Recorded over a distance of 9,826 kilometers and in just over two months. Just above that we find an owner who has scored a consumption of 1 in 10.8 over the past three years and 25,409 km.

Consumption Giulietta JTDm

Although a diesel is interesting for fewer and fewer buyers, we do see a clear advantage in fuel consumption. On average, one drives 1 to 18.3 (5.5l/100 km) with the 1.6 JTDm against 1 to 16.6 for the 2.0-litre. The most economical Giulietta 2.0 JTDm driver achieves 1 in 17.8 over a distance of almost 100,000 kilometers. With a consumption of 1 to 20.7, the most economical 1.6 JTDm does considerably better.

The Alfa Giulietta has now been succeeded by the Tonale, a compact crossover. We are of course curious about the practical consumption of this higher model. So if you have an Alfa Tonale, keep track of your consumption in the AutoWeek Consumption Monitor!
