On the Shanghai exhibition floor, Toyota is attracting the necessary attention with two new electric study models. Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus takes a more modest tack and hoists the electric Lexus RZ for the Chinese auto show in an Outdoor jacket.
Lexus is bringing a range of dressed-up models to Auto Shanghai, most of which we’ve been able to show you before. However, there is also a new show car: the Lexus RZ Outdoor Concept.

The addition ‘Outdoor Concept’ immediately indicates that we are not dealing with an earth-shattering creation. Just like the RX Outdoor Concept, the RZ Outdoor Concept is an adventurous version of an existing model. This time based on the electric Lexus RZ. The RZ Outdoor Concept has new bumpers with skid plates and additional lighting and things like black wheel arch edges. Special off-road rubber makes the RZ Outdoor Concept 2 centimeters higher than a regular Lexus RZ. We also see that the RZ Outdoor Concept has black window frames, black door handles and is equipped with a winch, a roof rack and an LED bar on the roof.
Will the Lexus RZ Outdoor Concept go into production? Probably not. The study model probably mainly serves to emphasize the SUV content of the electric RZ. A number of extras may eventually end up in the accessory folder of the electric Lexus.
