Spotify has given the app for the Mac a new design. The new feature makes it much easier to find your music. We’ll show you what’s new!
New design Spotify on Mac
Last month, the Spotify app on the iPhone already received a major update and now it’s the turn of Spotify on the Mac. The makers have given both the web version and the app a new function that makes it easier to find your music. That’s because of the new library on the side of the app.

Previously, only a list of all your playlists could be found in the place of the updated library. You sometimes had to search for the right playlist, especially if you had a lot of music stored in Spotify. The new library puts an end to that search, because Spotify has added a number of useful features for the Mac.
Renewed library in Spotify
If you are looking for a specific playlist, podcast or album, you no longer have to go to a separate library in the new version of Spotify. The library has been moved to the left bar, so you can always look up something quickly. The format of the renovated library can be adjusted, so that it does not get in the way in the new location.
When searching in the left bar, it is now possible to apply certain filters, so that you can easily find the song or album you are looking for. For example, it is possible to only search for podcasts that you have saved on your Mac. The search results can then be sorted by alphabet, recently added or recently played, among other things.
New feature replaces old library on Spotify
The moved library replaces the old library in the latest version of Spotify on Mac. The separate page with the library has been completely removed in the update. You will always find the library in the left bar of your screen. There is no longer a separate page with an overview of all your stored music and podcasts.

Not a fan of the moved library on Spotify on Mac? Then it is possible to switch on the compact version. You will then not continuously see the covers of all albums and podcasts, but a simple list with only the titles of all files. Your library can therefore be adjusted more extensively in the new version of Spotify on the Mac, so that you can decide for yourself which layout you like best.
