The Bugatti Chiron may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean Bugatti is done with it yet. It now presents a Chiron Super Sport that is provided with special drawing art.
Just when you think the last Bugatti Chiron has been presented, another one follows. After the ‘last series’, the Chiron l’Ébé, the Chiron Profilée appeared and during the Monterey Car Week the curtain goes down on this Chiron Super Sport ‘Golden Era’. A copy built on behalf of an ‘important customer’.
The slightly longer and heavier Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is normally more special than ‘regular’ Chirons, but the client wanted to make his car something even more special. It had to be a tribute to the history of the brand. Therefore, drawings of legendary historic Bugatti’s can be seen both in and on the car. From the old racing cars of Ettore Bugatti and his sons to the EB110 with which the brand returned in the late 1980s; they are represented on this Chiron. The right side of the car reflects the period from 1909 to 1956, the left side the period from 1987 to 2023. The sills show the years.
Bugatti says it has spent about two years in the special partly gold-colored Chiron Super Sport. Much of that time was spent designing and choosing the sketches together with the client, but also the preparatory work. It was, as you can imagine, quite a pain in the ass to apply the sketches to the car. The result may be there and probably very generously paid for it. Whether the lucky owner dares to take it on the road after receiving it next week…
