For those who can’t wait
The next generation BMW M5 is still a while away, but for those who want to bridge that time with a regular 5-series – or i5 – there is good news: BMW is presenting its catalog of ‘M Performance Parts’ for both the conventionally powered as an electric new 5 Series.
Are you in the market for a new BMW 5 series or i5 with M package, but do you think it could be a bit sportier? Then BMW’s new M Performance Parts brochure is for you. Today the brand shows what you can find in it. Not that the content is very surprising; the brand also introduced an M Performance catalog for a large number of its previous models and we find roughly the same things in it. Stickers for the side, carbon fiber mounting and adhesive parts for around the car, a few new wheel designs, different brakes and some sporty elements in the interior. Nevertheless, we pause briefly, mainly to show what it looks like.
The parts can also be ordered in combination with the electric BMW i5 with an M package and it is quite interesting to see what they do with its rear bumper. BMW’s design department gives you diffuser-like elements on both sides, suggesting the presence of four exhausts. The elements are made of carbon fiber, just like the side skirt extensions, splitter, spoiler and mirror caps that you will also find in the new brochure.
Bigger brakes
Do they still not provide sufficient contrast? Then there is the black striping with M Performance text on the side. You can completely ‘finish’ the look of your 5-series or i5 with one of the four sets of M wheels that BMW is introducing, behind which you can have larger and perforated brake discs mounted. They stand out even more because the already larger caliper is also painted red.
The brand also designed additional optional parts for the interior, including floor mats and door sills. Finally, it adds an M Performance key case and an M Performance carbon fiber fuel cap shell to the lengthy option list – for the enthusiast.
The M Performance parts will be launched at the same time as the new BMW 5 Series and i5.
