Traffic disruption in The Hague

Today will be the first weekday on which climate activists block the A12 in The Hague. Not surprisingly, the municipality of The Hague is absolutely unhappy about this.
Last weekend, the A12 in The Hague was again the stage for climate activists from Extinction Rebellion (XR). The action group recently announced that it would block the A12 near The Hague daily and indefinitely from Saturday 9 September. This means that today is the first weekday on which activists seriously hinder access to The Hague.
Mayor Jan van Zanen of The Hague previously expressed his dissatisfaction about the protests on the A12. Van Zanen called them ‘worrying and unacceptable’ and now the mayor is far from charmed by the plans, ANP writes. “I am not talking about the goals that people are pursuing, but I am very concerned about the disruptive actions that have been announced for the coming working days.” Action group XR tells everyone to return to the A12 in The Hague at 12:00. It is not yet known how many activists will appear this time. The municipality of The Hague estimated that around 9,000 puts an end to all fossil subsidies, because they encourage the use of fossil fuels and therefore contribute to climate change.
