Volkswagen is releasing an extensive series of photos of the updated Golf GTI into the world. We now officially see for the first time what the refined Golf will look like on the inside. Why are the Golf plates released during the CES technology fair in Las Vegas? That has nothing to do with the horsepower of the Golf GTI, but rather with… artificial intelligence.

Volkswagen announces that it has introduced the artificial intelligence of the now well-known chat tool ChatGPT will integrate into the voice assistant of its cars. Because something as intangible as a piece of virtual intelligence cannot be depicted so beautifully, Volkswagen visually links the news to the updated Volkswagen Golf GTI. The Golf will soon receive a facelift and in the refreshed version you should also be able to benefit from the virtual intelligence that the ChatGPT chatbot can offer you.

Volkswagen has not yet reported detailed information. For the time being, it only indicates that all models of the brand that can be equipped with the latest series of its infotainment systems will have access to the clever series of ones and zeros. We are talking about the ID7, ID4, ID5, ID3, Tiguan, Passat and the soon to be renewed Golf. The basis of the system is Cerence Chat Pro from Cerence. With Volkswagen’s assistant, you can currently have more than regular car functions enabled or disabled by the virtual assistant. This way you can ask general questions. Is the Volkswagen system not working out? Then ChatGPT is enabled. Volkswagen emphasizes that ChatGPT does not have access to car data and that questions asked and associated answers are immediately removed from the system.

ChatGPT should be delivered in various models of the brand as early as the second quarter of this year. Volkswagen is not the only manufacturer that uses ChatGPT. DS and Mercedes-Benz previously announced that they would use ChatGPT in their cars.

That brings us to the car that Volkswagen has visually linked its announcement to. Indeed: the wrapped Volkswagen Golf GTI that you see in these photos. Although, packed… That only applies to the outside. The interior of the updated Golf GTI has already been fully visualized. The Volkswagen Golf again gets physical buttons on the steering wheel, although the significantly larger new infotainment screen is the biggest visual attention grabber. Striking external features: the new, flatter headlights and the rear lights with a new layout. We also see a new front bumper and a new and especially more elaborately designed rear bumper with diffuser. We also notice a large rear spoiler at the top of the rear window.
