Apple releases iOS 17.3
Just update! Apple has released iOS 17.3, bringing a number of new features to your iPhone. It is not a major update, but your phone is much more secure with the latest iOS version. Apple Music has also added a useful feature and new wallpapers are available. These are the new features coming to your iPhone!

1. Protection for stolen device
‘Stolen Device Protection‘ comes to your iPhone for the first time with iOS 17.3. The feature, known as ‘Stolen Device Protection’, adds an extra layer of security to your iPhone. If the device is not near known locations, Face ID or Touch ID is required to access certain data. This is especially useful if the thief knows your passcode, which is now no longer enough for full access to your iPhone.
For example, your private information and security settings are better protected with Face ID or Touch ID, so that they cannot simply be changed if your iPhone is stolen. With Stolen Device Protection, this information cannot be changed until an hour after authentication via Face ID or Touch ID. In known locations, such as your home or work location, this is not necessary in iOS 17.3.

2. Shared playlists in Apple Music in iOS 17.3
Apple Music gets a new feature, because you can now create a shared playlist with the music service. You then create a playlist in Apple Music together with others. Anyone who joins the list can add, remove or change the order of numbers. We already saw this function in a test version of iOS 17.2, but it will be available to everyone with iOS 17.3.

3. New wallpapers
A new wallpaper comes to your iPhone in iOS 17.3. This new Unity Bloom wallpaper honors Black history and culture in celebration of Black History Month. It is a black background with colorful flowers on it. A similar wallpaper comes to your Apple Watch with watchOS 10.3 and to your iPad with iPadOS 17.3. This way, all your Apple devices will fit together again!

4. AirPlay in hotel rooms
Another useful feature coming to your iPhone with iOS 17.3 is support for AirPlay in hotels. With AirPlay it is easy to quickly stream something to your television or Mac(Book). The function is often not yet available in hotels, but this will change with the latest iOS version. You only have to scan a QR code on the television in the hotel, then streaming can start.

iOS 17.3 now available to everyone
In addition, Apple has made improvements to crash detection in iOS 17.3, a feature that we only find on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15. This feature sometimes went off unintentionally, but that chance is (even) smaller in iOS 17.3. Another change in the latest iOS version can be found in your iPhone’s settings. You can now clearly see how long your device is still insured with AppleCare.

Apple has now released iOS 17.3 for everyone, so you can already update your iPhone. You do this by going to ‘Settings > General > Software Update’ on your iPhone and tapping ‘Update Now’. If you have automatic updating turned on, there is a good chance that your iPhone has already been updated. Other Apple devices also have an update, including iPadOS 17.3 and watchOS 10.3!
