Less power, fewer euros!

The electric BMW iX2 gets a new engine version. This was announced less than a week ago, but AutoWeek can now tell you what the BMW iX2 eDrive20 will cost before BMW itself publishes it.
BMW recently announced the arrival of a new powertrain for the electric iX2. Until now, the BMW iX2 was only available as an iX2 xDrive, a four-wheel drive variant with two combined 313 hp electric motors and a 64.8 kWh battery. The front-wheel drive BMW iX2 eDrive20 has now been added. It also has the 64.8 kWh battery, but has to make do with a single electric motor. It has 204 hp and helps the BMW iX2 eDrive20 reach a speed of 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. The range of the iX2 eDrive20 is up to 478 kilometers. Now we have the Dutch prize.
The BMW iX2 eDrive20 costs €49,975 in the Netherlands. Do you want the M Sport package? Then you pay at least €53,972. For comparison: the BMW iX2 xDrive30 costs €59,353 in basic trim and changes owners from €63,439 with the M Sport package. The price difference between the iX2 eDrive20 and iX2 xDrive30 is about €9,400.

More X2-related news: the BMW X2 – so the non-electric variant – will have a diesel version. It was already available as a 150 hp sDrive18d with front-wheel drive, but is now also available as a 163 hp xDrive20d with all-wheel drive. It costs at least €63,717.
