iCloud most popular service in 2024

The research shows that of all Apple users, a whopping 64 percent have a paid subscription to iCloud. That’s not surprising, because with the free version of iCloud, users only get 5 GB of storage space. That’s not nearly enough, which is why signing up for iCloud Plus is often the only option to easily store all your photos, files and backups.

After iCloud Plus, Apple Music is Apple’s most popular service in 2024. Of all Apple users, 42 percent have Apple Music, followed by Apple Podcasts (37 percent). AppleCare was examined for iPad and iPhone users, with mainly people with an iPad taking out AppleCare. While 35 percent of buyers of the iPad choose AppleCare, this is only 17 percent for the iPhone. This makes AppleCare for the iPhone Apple’s least popular service of 2024.

Apple’s revenue in 2024 will be primarily from iCloud Plus and Apple Music subscriptions. In the third fiscal quarter of 2024, Apple is expected to earn a total of $24.21 billion in subscription revenue. That’s 14 percent more than the company earned in the same period last year. So Apple’s services will not only become more popular in 2024, but also more important to the company.

It is expected that more subscriptions will be added in the future. For example, Apple will introduce Apple Intelligence in Europe at the end of this year or early 2025. The service will be free to use for the coming years, but it is quite possible that a paid version of Apple Intelligence will follow. The AI ​​functions will probably then become part of Apple One, which gives you access to multiple services in one subscription. In this way, Apple can earn even more from paying subscribers.
