New Passwords App

macOS Sequoia gets a new Passwords app, which is also available on iOS, iPadOS, visionOS, and even Windows. The new app adds a new column to the left side that makes it easier to navigate through all of your passwords. Now you can view just your Wi-Fi passwords, for example, or all verification codes that aren’t associated with any websites.

Highlights in Safari

Safari now has Highlights. This feature uses machine learning to automatically detect interesting things and show you with a single click. You can find directions, summaries, or links to read more about people, music, movies, and shows. The redesigned Reader view gives you more options to read articles without distractions.

Arrange windows more easily

Apple has finally added an automated form of window tiling to macOS Sequoia, making it much easier to arrange windows across the screen without having to manually drag and resize them individually. This makes it easy to place multiple windows side by side, or in the corners so that your apps stay in view better.

Background replacement

With the Background Replacement feature, you can easily change your background when participating in video calls or meetings. For example, you can choose a gradient background, a macOS background or a photo that you have taken yourself.

Game Porting Toolkit

Apple has announced the second version of its Game Porting Toolkit, making it easier to not only play Windows games on macOS, but also play macOS games on iOS and iPadOS.

mirroring

New in macOS Sequoia, but not here yet

iPhone Mirroring isn’t coming until macOS Sequoia 15.1. This feature lets you use your iPhone through your Mac without having it unlocked. It also works seamlessly when your iPhone is in standby mode, so you don’t have to switch between multiple devices and can continue working on your Mac.

In addition, Apple Intelligence won’t be appearing until macOS Sequoia 15.1. Apple Intelligence (AI) helps you compose emails and generate images in Image Playground, among other things. The Image Playground feature is integrated into apps like Messages and also exists as a standalone app.

It remains to be seen when iPhone Mirroring and Apple Intelligence will be available here. Due to EU regulations and concerns about privacy and security, the new features are not yet coming to macOS Sequoia in Europe. Apple is in negotiations with the EU, so this may change soon.
