Apple’s next iPhone will be much cheaper (and coming this spring)

Apple just released the iPhone 16, but the next iPhone is coming out this spring. The good news: that iPhone will be much cheaper.

iPhone SE 4 is coming

Apple released four iPhones in September. The iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are now available in stores and have the same starting prices as the iPhone 15. The cheapest version of the iPhone 16 currently costs €949,-. That’s still a lot of money, but Apple’s next iPhone will be much cheaper.

Where Apple usually waits a year to release the next iPhone, that is probably not the case now. The iPhone SE 4 will be released in the spring, so we probably only have to wait six months for the new device. Apple is making major changes to the fourth generation of the iPhone SE. The phone will get a new design and support for Apple Intelligence. Perhaps most importantly: the iPhone SE will be much cheaper than the iPhone 16.

Big changes in the iPhone SE

Apple will finally say goodbye to the home button with the next iPhone SE. The device will have the same design as the iPhone 14 and will be equipped with Face ID. This means that the display will be slightly larger, because the iPhone SE 4 will get a 6.1-inch OLED screen. On the back of the smartphone, Apple will probably place one 48-megapixel camera, with the current iPhone SE that is still 12 megapixels.

In addition, the iPhone SE 4 gets many features that we now see in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16. The phone gets an action button, which the mutebutton. You charge the fourth-generation iPhone SE via the USB-C port instead of the Lightning connector. According to rumors, the next iPhone SE will also get support for Apple Intelligence, just like the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) and the iPhone 16 series.

iPhone SE 4 Price and Release Date

The iPhone SE 4 is said to be powered by the A18 chip, so Apple is giving the next iPhone SE a major overhaul both under and above the hood. It is not yet known what the exact price of the device will be. The iPhone SE 3 has a starting price of 529 euros at Apple, but is already available for € 309. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be more expensive due to all the improvements, with the starting price probably being around 600 euros.

That’s a lot cheaper than the iPhone 16, while the iPhone SE 4 takes over many features of the regular iPhones. So you no longer have to pay the top price for features like Face ID or Apple Intelligence.
