Apple is reportedly equipping the MacBook Air with the fast M4 chip in 2025. We already know this processor from the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro 2024. The difference between the M3 and the M4 chip is large, tests show that the new processor is about 25 percent faster. The new generation of the MacBook Air is so much faster and takes less time to process heavy tasks. That is useful, especially with the arrival of Apple Intelligence.
Other improvements expected with the MacBook Air 2025 include improved battery life, the introduction of an additional Thunderbolt 4 port and Center Point. With the latter used the camera machine learning to always show you in the center of the video image. The differences between the MacBook Air 2023 and the MacBook Air 2024 are small, the main difference is the processor. The 2023 laptop runs on the M2 chip, while the MacBook Air 2024 uses the M3 chip.
