Analyst Jeff Pu from GF Securities has shared a message in which he elaborates on rumors about the iPhone 17. For example, he indicates that all four new models will probably get a better front camera.

PU mentions the possible hardware specifications of the iPhone 17 series, which is expected to consist of four different models. According to him, they all get a front camera of 24 megapixels, which is a big step compared to the current 12 megapixels. The front camera has remained virtually unchanged since the iPhone 11 in 2019. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said earlier That at least one iPhone 17 model gets a 24-megapixel front camera.

iPhone 17 Pro models

The iPhone 17 Pro models even get a new 48-megapixel zoom lens, instead of the current 12-megapixel zoom camera. Apple has previously experimented with 8K video on the iPhone 16 Pro, but that function ultimately postponed because the 12-megapixel Televelens is limited to 4K resolution.

The Pro models also run on an A19 Pro chip with 12 GB of memory, presumably to support extra Apple Intelligence functions. All new models receive Wi-Fi 7, which is currently exclusive for the 16 Pro models. Only the iPhone 17 Air gets the new C1 modem, although PU suggests that Apple may still return to this.

iPhone 17 Air

The iPhone 17 Air is the new Ultradunne iPhone about which rumors are circulating. PU does not think that this model is attractive enough to stimulate the sale of iPhones because of the low specifications.

The device gets a 6.6-inch screen and is 5.5 millimeters thick, making it the thinnest iPhone that Apple has ever made. The device gets a single 48-megapixel camera at the rear, just like the iPhone 16th, and an A19 chip instead of the Pro version with extra GPU cores and 12 GB of memory. PU thinks the iPhone 17 Air is made from Titanium, and the other models, including the pro models, from aluminum.
