Apple has released the release candidate of iOS 18.4! That means that the final update follows quickly. This is when you can update.

The Release Candidate (RC) from iOS 18.4 has appeared! That is the last test version for the official release. After the RC appears, it usually takes less than a week before the real version arrives. So we don’t have to wait long for the final update. For European users, iOS 18.4 is a relatively small update, because they still can’t try Apple Intelligence.
Incidentally, from iOS 18.4 (partly) change. Apple Intelligence will be available here soon, but only if you change the language on your iPhone to English. You also have to adjust the region to the United States. You can then get started with the first functions of Apple Intelligence. Do you find this too much work? New functions
Apple has made virtually no changes in the release candidate of iOS 18.4. The company probably used this update to implement small improvements in the background. With the following software version, a number of new functions will come to your iPhone. You get new emoji, which we have already put here here. This emoji also come to the iPad and the Mac.
In addition, Apple adds new buttons to the control panel of your iPhone, with which you can switch on relaxing background noises. A handy function of these buttons is starting a playlist on Apple Music. Based on the mood of this background music (sleep, relaxed, productive or well -being), a list of suitable numbers is compiled. This feature is available on the iPhone from iOS 18.4.

Furthermore, we see few changes in iOS 18.4 in the Netherlands and Belgium, because the rest of the new functions have to do with Apple Intelligence. It is not yet clear when Apple Intelligence will become available in Dutch. Possibly that only happens with iOS 19 or in an update that appears later. In that case we can only use Apple Intelligence in Dutch in 2026.
Now that the release candidate of iOS 18.4 has appeared, we don’t have to wait long for the final release. Chances are that the software version will be released next week.
