A new function of WhatsApp protects your chats by giving you more control over what your conversation partner can store. You need to know this.
New function in WhatsApp protects your chats
According to Wabainfo Test WhatsApp A new function with which you can determine whether other chat members can export your chats with them. With the new function you can also determine whether they can automatically save media you share. The new option is called ‘Advanced Chat Privacy’ (‘Advanced Chat Privacy’) and is already in a recent WhatsApp beta for iOS. It is not yet clear when the function will be rolled out to the general public.
If you call in the position, you prevent your conversation partner (s) from storing the full chat history. If you use it in a group chat, everyone in the chat will receive a message that advanced chat privacy is engaged.

The function also ensures that media that you share are not automatically stored on the device of your conversation partner (s). It is not clear whether the new function also prevents users from storing photos and videos manually.
No waterproof protection
The new function prevents chat members from exporting chats, it is still possible to send messages and make screenshots. Advanced chat privacy from WhatsApp therefore does not fully protect. You can increase the level of security by switching on the ‘disappearing chat messages’ option. Your messages then automatically disappear after a certain time, which you can set yourself.
