Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S25 Edge, an ultra -thin smartphone that has to compete with the Apple iPhone 17 Air.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is out
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Has a 6.7-inch Amoled screen and is 5.8 mm thin. For comparison: according to rumors, the iPhone 17 Air gets a screen of 6.6 inches and a thickness of 5.5 mm. The Air may therefore become slightly smaller and thinner than the new Samsung. The Galaxy S25 Edge weighs only 163 grams, a lot less than the Galaxy S25 Ultra or the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The Galaxy S25 Ultra weighs 218 grams, the iPhone 16 Pro Max even 227 grams.
Samsung uses a titanium frame for the Galaxy S25 Edge, which we also expect for the iPhone 17 Air. The device is also equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, which, according to Samsung, improves the resilience.
Camera, processor and AI
The iPhone 17 Air gets a single 48-megapixel wide-angle lens, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has a camera with two lenses. These are a 200 megapixel wide -angle lens and a 12 megapixel ultragro area lens.
Apart from the thin and light design, the Galaxy S25 Edge is basically identical to the other smartphones in the Galaxy S25 line-up, with the same performance and functions. Just like the rest of the S25 series, the device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip. In addition, 128 GB of memory is available as standard.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge naturally also has AI functions on board. This way you filter unwanted background noises from your videos with Audio Eraser, create reels by organizing your videos and pressing on Auto Trim and you will receive the whole day through personalized briefings from the brand new Now letter. Thanks to the collaboration of Samsung and Google, Google Gemini functions are also present.
Price of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
On the Samsung website you can place a pre-order for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. The price starts at 1249 euros for the 256 GB model. Samsung upgradet everyone who buys the 256 GB model to 512 GB. This deal is available until 30 May.
There is still much unclear about the price of the iPhone 17 Air. Previous rumors predicted that the phone will cost around 1119 euros, but that is not yet certain. We expect Apple to present the iPhone 17 Air in September.
