See: This change only comes to the front camera of the iPhone 17 Air

It seems that Apple will change something at the front camera of the iPhone 17 Air. This can be seen in a surfaced screen protector.

This screen protector for the iPhone 17 Air shows that Apple is making a subtle but striking change compared to the rest of the iPhone 17 series. According to the image, the selfie camera is left of the Dynamic Island, in contrast to its usual spot on the right.

According to rumors, all models of the iPhone 17 series (including the iPhone 17 Air) receive a new 24 MP front camera. That is quite a big upgrade of the 12 MP selfie camera that is in the iPhone 16 series. But that does not explain why the front camera at the iPhone 17 Air has been moved. With the other models, the camera and the Dynamic Island remain positioned on the right.

Rumors say that Apple has had to move internal components (such as the Face ID module, the battery and more) to save space. The fact that Apple has given the front camera a different place with the iPhone 17 Air does not have to have consequences for you as a user. The functionality is almost certainly the same.

However, the changed camera position can affect accessories such as screen protectors and covers. Manufacturers must then take a slightly different recess with the iPhone Air. The fact that a screen protector has now surfaced with this change means that accessory makers are already preparing.

iPhone 17 Air display and cameras on the back

According to other rumors, the iPhone 17 Air has a single camera on the back and a microphone and LED flash on the right. These are all in an elongated camera island, which looks a lot like the beam at the back of Google Pixel-Phones.

Rumors also say that the iPhone 17 Air gets a 6.6-inch to 6.7-inch display, which means that the device will be larger than the iPhone 17 (6.3 inches) but smaller than the iPhone 17 Pro Max (6.9 inch).
