Apple has released a new software version! Watchos 26.0.1 is available for the Apple Watch, with which Apple activates new functions for the smartwatch. It is an update for the Apple Watch Ultra 3, which has been in stores since Friday 19 September. The advanced Apple Watch has for the first time with satellite connection, but it has not yet been activated in all countries.
With Watchos 26.0.1, Apple rolls out the new function for users in Mexico. The software version activates satellite connection on the Apple Watch Ultra 3 in that country, which means that the Message and Search My app on the smartwatch works via satellite. It is therefore an update that is only available on the Apple Watch Ultra 3. The interim update only brings new functions to users in Mexico, in other countries Apple does not implement any changes.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3 was announced on Tuesday 9 September and is equipped with a series of new functions. For example, the battery life of the Apple Watch has improved, the screen is a stroke larger and satellite connection comes to the smartwatch for the first time. With the satellite connection you can always be reached via the Apple Watch, even if you do not have access to the mobile network. In that case, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 connects to a satellite, to still share messages and your location.
The satellite connection offers support for sending SMS messages and emergency calls. This way you are always accessible with the Apple Watch Ultra 3, even if you are high in the mountains or in another remote place. With Watchos 26.0.1, users in Mexico can now also get started with the satellite connection of the Apple Watch Ultra 3. In the Netherlands and Belgium the function was already available at the smartwatch.
