Apple has launched 3 products with the M5 chip, but rumors say there will be 4 more Apple products that will receive very rare updates.
4 Apple products get rare updates
The latest Apple devices are equipped with the new M5 chip. This concerns a new iPad Pro, MacBook Pro and Vision Pro. Yet these are not major updates, as they all had a predecessor last year.
According to new rumors, Apple products that do not receive new updates as often will also appear soon. For example, we expect a new Apple TV 4K, a HomePod mini 2 and the AirTag 2 in the coming weeks, followed by a new Studio Display in early 2026. We have had to wait a particularly long time for each of these four products since the last update:
- Apple TV 4K: 3 years ago;
- HomePod mini: 5 years ago;
- AirTag: 4.5 years ago;
- Studio Display: 3.5 years ago.

Most updates come faster
These years-long wait times are in stark contrast to the annual updates released for most popular Apple products. Every year, Apple releases new models of the iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Sometimes these innovations are accompanied by major feature upgrades, sometimes they are smaller releases, as is the case with the new M5 products. But it’s rare to go more than a year or 18 months between updates.
That is simply not the case with updates for the ‘smaller’ Apple products. We’ll soon find out how Apple plans to modernize said products and make the most of this rare upgrade. When Apple presents the Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini 2, AirTag 2 and Apple Studio Display 2, you will of course read it immediately. iPhoned.
