According to Bloomberg Tesla is considering adding Apple CarPlay to their cars. However, no final decision has been made yet, so we will have to wait a while.
If CarPlay actually comes to Tesla cars, it will become the standard version. In any case, it will not be the new version of CarPlay, CarPlay Ultra. You can currently only find that version in some Aston Martin cars (and only in America). Apple CarPlay will therefore not have full control in a Tesla.
But why is Tesla suddenly considering Apple CarPlay? After all, support for CarPlay was held back for years.
Many buyers today find CarPlay a must-have when choosing a new car. A study showed that about a third of car buyers see the lack of CarPlay as the main reason for choosing a different car.
In addition, Tesla saw sales decline significantly after Musk took over the management of the American DOGE. He has now stopped doing this and Tesla shares appear to be rising again. But one thing is certain that this has caused a dent in Tesla’s image.
In addition, shareholders have approved a huge $1 trillion bonus for Elon Musk. But for that, the richest man in the world has to work hard. He gets this huge bonus when he meets certain goals. The company must, among other things, deliver 20 million cars per year over the next ten years. Support for Apple CarPlay in Teslas could go a long way toward that goal.
