Watch Formula 1 for only 1.19 euros per month
In the Netherlands, Viaplay has the rights to Formula 1but you pay at least 14.92 euros per month for that. Fortunately, there is another way to look. There are a number of countries where you can still watch Formula 1 for free on linear TV.
If you want to take advantage of this, you can do two things: go on holiday or use a VPN. The last option is of course the cheapest, especially now during Black Friday. What is a VPN?
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. It redirects all your internet traffic via a server in a country of your choice. This is mainly done to keep internet criminals out, because this way they do not know where you are. In addition, all your data is encrypted, so that no one can steal your identity.
A VPN also makes the websites you visit think you are in another country. This allows you to expand the range of streaming services, among other things. For example, films and series that cannot yet be seen on Netflix in the Netherlands are on Netflix in the United States. But you can also watch Formula 1 races ‘for free’!
This is how you watch Formula 1 via VPN
To watch Formula 1 via a VPN, first take out a subscription with VPN Netherlands. Then download the app on your iPhone and log in. Then choose a server in one of the countries that broadcast Formula 1 races for free. You can choose from these options:
- Austria (Servus TV or ORF)
- Switzerland (SRF)
- Belgium (RTBF)
- Luxembourg (RTL Zwee)
Once successful, go to the broadcaster’s website in the country you chose. There you will find the live stream of the Formula 1 race. If you understand German and/or French, you can watch right away. If you would like Dutch commentary, you can use an app such as Grand Prix Radio. You can find it for free in the App Store.
Do you not like a VPN at all? You can of course also simply take out a subscription with Viaplay. So you have to pay some money for that, but then you can be sure that you can watch without any problems and with Dutch commentary!
