My Apple Product of the Year 2025 is the iPhone Air (and here’s why)

It is so far the worst-selling iPhone of the 17 series, but for me the iPhone Air is still the Apple product of the year 2025.

My Apple Product of the Year 2024 was the iPhone 15 Plus. And for most of 2025, I still enjoyed using that iPhone. I am especially happy with the large screen and the long battery life. In fact, the only disadvantage of the iPhone 15 Plus is that Apple Intelligence is not supported. Too bad, but no reason for me to switch immediately.

Until the new iPhone Air appeared in the newsroom in September. My expectations were not too high in advance. Such a thin device looks stylish, but I was afraid that it would be at the expense of sturdiness and battery life. However, that turned out to be completely unjustified.

The iPhone 15 Plus with extra benefits

I quickly discovered that the iPhone Air is incredibly sturdy and the battery life isn’t bad at all. The Phone Air MagSafe Battery is included, but I have never needed it in practice. In fact, the iPhone Air is everything I love about the iPhone 15 Plus (big screen, long battery life), but with some added benefits.

The thin device looks really stylish (even with the thin case Gustaav in the photo below), especially now that I have experienced that it does not detract from the sturdiness and battery life. As additional advantages, the Air is a lot lighter (very nice if you use your iPhone often) and there is support for Apple Intelligence. In addition, the device is a lot faster thanks to the A19 Pro chip and 12 GB of RAM.

There is one disadvantage though

Although I am actually only positive about the iPhone Air, there is still one disadvantage: the price. The device came on the market for an amount of 1229 euros. That was only 100 euros cheaper than the iPhone 17 Pro. And for those 100 euros you had to give up a lot of Pro features. You can now buy the iPhone Air for €964. That’s still a lot of money, but a more realistic amount for an otherwise great iPhone!
