The iPhone 17 Pro is my Apple Product of the Year 2025 (for this reason)

Apple has released many new products in 2025, but the iPhone 17 Pro is without a doubt my favorite device of the year.

My product of 2025: the iPhone 17 Pro

The year is almost over! December is traditionally the time to look back on the past twelve months. What products has Apple released this year? And what is the best device of 2025? With the arrival of no fewer than five new iPhones, we saw a record number of Apple smartphones. It is therefore not surprising that one of the new iPhones is my favorite Apple product of 2025.

We saw the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air in 2025. The iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max have received a major update, with Apple adjusting the design of the Pro models for the first time in years. Under the hood, the devices are equipped with a new processor. The more compact 6.3-inch screen makes the iPhone 17 Pro my favorite Apple product of the year 2025.

Renewed design

The iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro look almost the same. This does not apply to the iPhone 17 Pro, which has a completely new housing. It’s a shame that Apple has said goodbye to the titanium edges, but the new aluminum design makes up for a lot. For the first time, Apple has opted for a housing that consists of a single piece of aluminum. That looks very sleek, especially because this year you can choose from a number of striking colors with the iPhone 17 Pro.

Opinions among users appeared to be divided about the wider camera island and the glass back of the iPhone 17 Pro. The color difference between the glass and aluminum parts is clearly visible, but in our opinion this is not disturbing. Perhaps even more important is the improved screen, which is made of Ceramic Shield 2. This glass is up to three times more resistant to scratches. In practice this has indeed proven to be the case; not a scratch has appeared after four months of intensive use.

Battery lasts much longer

So a lot has changed on the outside of the iPhone 17 Pro compared to previous Pro models. Still, in our opinion, that is not the best upgrade that Apple has made this year. The iPhone 17 Pro is equipped with the A19 Pro chip, which is faster and more energy efficient. The latter is the biggest advantage of the new iPhone, because the battery lasts much longer. The iPhone 17 Pro lasts up to 31 hours of video playback.

In comparison, the iPhone 16 Pro lasts up to 27 hours of video playback. With the iPhone 15 Pro that difference is even greater, which only lasts up to 23 hours when playing videos. The iPhone 17 Pro has a greatly improved battery life and this is noticeable every day. The device easily makes it to the end of the day, while that was certainly the question with the iPhone 15 Pro and earlier. Is the battery almost empty? The iPhone 17 Pro will then be charged to fifty percent within just twenty minutes.

Get an iPhone 17 Pro

The improved cameras are another advantage of the iPhone 17 Pro. At the front, the phone has an 18-megapixel camera with Center Point support, and at the back, the iPhone 17 Pro has no fewer than three 48-megapixel cameras. It is the first time that an iPhone has three 48-megapixel cameras. The improved telephoto lens can zoom in up to eight times without loss of quality, which is a useful addition, especially on holiday or at concerts.

The new housing, longer battery life and the improved camera system make the iPhone 17 Pro the Apple product of the year for me. Are you still looking for a new smartphone?
