WhatsApp has announced another new feature! The messaging service regularly adds new features to the application. That will soon be the case again, because a new WhatsApp feature should make conversations much more secure. WhatsApp has announced ‘Strict account settings’ in a press release. These advanced settings protect your account even better against cyber attacks, for example.
Private conversations in WhatsApp are already end-to-end encrypted. This means that no one outside the conversation can read your messages, including WhatsApp itself. An additional layer of security will soon be added, because WhatsApp is going one step further with strict account settings. The new feature enables two-step verification and protects you from attachments and media from unknown senders. Enable this feature to make WhatsApp much more secure!
Strict account settings
Strict account settings ensure that your account in WhatsApp becomes much more secure. For example, calls from unknown numbers are muted and your IP address is hidden by default during calls. Your profile photo and last seen will be locked so that only your contacts can see this information. To make your profile more secure, you can enable the new WhatsApp feature as follows:
- Open WhatsApp;
- Tap ‘Settings’;
- Go to ‘Privacy’;
- Choose ‘Advanced’;
- Turn on the switch behind ‘Strict account settings’.
