Apple will unveil iOS 27 this June at WWDC and it looks like it will be the best iPhone update we’ve seen in years.
iOS 27: the best iPhone update in years
According to reports from, among others Bloomberg and The Information Apple has two clear focuses for iOS 27:
- Integration of new AI functions into the operating system.
- Bug fixes, performance improvements and stability increases.
With iOS 27, Apple seems ready to take AI integration to the next level, thanks in part to its new partnership with Google. According to Bloomberg, Apple wants to add a more chatbot-like interface to Siri. It will offer many functions that people expect from a chatbot today, such as answering questions, analyzing files and generating images.
Apple wants to integrate the new Siri into apps including Mail, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Photos and Apple TV. For example, you can ask Siri to find a photo based on a description of its contents and edit it in a certain way.
This is essentially what Apple does best: tastefully integrate a new technology into its ecosystem. For example, the Siri chatbot is also able to analyze open windows and content on the screen to take actions and suggest commands.
Stability
iOS 26 was a huge update for the iPhone, with the main novelty being the Liquid Glass interface. Liquid Glass has been divisive, and Apple has done its best to please both sides. Now it’s important that Apple takes the time to focus on refinement and stability. There are obvious areas in iOS that need cleaning up.
According to Bloomberg, that is exactly what iOS 27 will do. The update focuses on new AI features, but otherwise places an emphasis on quality and performance.
