Apple recently released iOS 26.2.1, which fixes several issues. But now there also appear to be problems with this update.
iOS 26.2.1 causes problems on the iPhone: this is what’s going on
Apple rolled out the iOS 26.2.1 update for iPhones last week. This update adds support for the new AirTag 2 and fixes some minor bugs. But some iPhone users are now reporting new issues that have surfaced after the update.

More and more complaints are gradually trickling in on various forums and social media. Some users experience various annoying issues after installation, ranging from app crashes to complete system crashes.
Some iPhones also suddenly seem to struggle with simple tasks that previously went smoothly. There are also reports of iPhones that restart unexpectedly or suffer from a (very) quickly draining battery.
There are now hundreds of comments on Reddit and Apple’s own discussion groups from other users who also have problems. Some even report that their favorite locations in Apple Maps have disappeared after updating.
Fortunately, this doesn’t mean that everyone will have problems with iOS 26.2.1. The numbers seem relatively small compared to the total number of iPhone users who have already installed the update. Still, it is important that Apple releases an update. Apple is usually quite quick with these types of updates, so we expect the next update to be ready quite quickly.

iOS 26.3 is coming soon
iOS 26.3 is also expected to be released for everyone this month. Developers can already try out the update, because Apple has already made several test versions available. It is wise to install iOS 26.2.1 as soon as possible so that your iPhone is up to date and remains well secured.
