Although the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are still seven months away, there is now a rumor that reveals five new features.
5 new features for the iPhone 18 Pro (Max)
In a research report by GF Securities noted analyst Jeff Pu mentioned the following upgrades for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max:
1. Smaller Dynamic Island
There are rumors that Face ID components will be placed under the screen on the iPhone 18 Pro models, creating space for a smaller Dynamic Island on the devices.
2. Adjustable aperture
The 48-megapixel Fusion camera on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max is rumored to have a variable aperture. This allows you to control the amount of light that passes through the camera lens and reaches the sensor. This ensures that you have more control over the depth of field. Since iPhones have smaller image sensors due to size limitations, it’s unclear exactly how meaningful this improvement will be.
3. A20 Pro chip
The A20 Pro chip likely uses TSMC’s first-generation 2nm process. With a 2nm architecture and a new design, the A20 Pro chip should deliver solid performance and energy efficiency year after year.

4. N2 chip
All iPhone 17 models are equipped with an Apple-designed N1 chip that supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread. Apple says the N1 chip also improves the overall performance and reliability of features like Personal Hotspot and AirDrop. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will probably get the next generation: the N2 chip. It is not yet known what improvements this upgrade will bring.
5. C2 modem
The C1 modem for 5G and LTE debuted last year in the iPhone 16e, followed by a C1X chip in the iPhone Air. Apple says the C1X modem is up to twice as fast as the C1 modem and the most energy efficient modem in an iPhone ever. These improvements should continue with the C2 modem in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
